MUSIC CORNER
Music is said to be the combination of sounds that are pleasant to the ears.
Music is also an extremely important subject for all children to learn and can lead to better brain development, increase in human connection, and even stress relief.
Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness including intellectual, socio-emotional, motor, language and overall literacy.
Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. Dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression.
IMPORTANCE OF MUSIC EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS
Music education is important in the sense that when making music with others, it gives children a wonderful feeling of belonging to the group. Children who might have difficulty joining activities with others simply because they are shy, have limited English abilities or special needs, can easily participate when it comes to musical activity.
In some cases while clinical treatment is not necessary for every child, parents can use techniques of music therapy to enhance their child’s development of cognitive, emotional and physical ability at any age.
POSITIVE EFFECTS OF MUSIC ON CHILDREN
When a child is exposed to certain kinds of music the child can really reap some benefit
They will learn faster and retain more information than children who do not listen to certain kinds of music.
Many researchers swear by the “Mozart effect” which was the study conducted to find answer to this question “how does music affect children?”
The Mozart effect is a theory that claims that children who listen to certain types of music such as classical music will be brighter, more skilled in terms of motor abilities, and will have higher cognitive skills than children who do not listen to this type of music.
Finally, for children and adults, music helps strengthen memory skills.
